Texans Playoff Chances: Closing In

The match between the Texans and the Chargers will be presented at 4:25 p.m. on RDS2.

The Houston Texans can confirm their place in the playoffs with a victory or a tie on Saturday, against the Los Angeles Chargers, at SoFi Stadium.

Houston has won its last seven games after starting the season 0-3, and is currently ranked 7e and last place giving access to the playoffs.

Texans head coach Demeco Ryans last Sunday became the first coach in team history to win at least ten games in three consecutive seasons.

If the Texans admit defeat, they can still get their ticket to the big dance with a defeat of the Indianapolis Colts against the Jacksonville Jaguars, who have not lost since November 9.

The duel between the Texans and the Chargers promises to be a demonstration of two of the best defenses on the circuit. Houston leads the NFL in yards (272.3) and points (16.6) allowed per game, ranking 4e ranked in passing yards (176.1) and rushing yards (96.2).

The Chargers find themselves at 4e ladder for total yards conceded per game (283.1) and in 6e position for passing yards (179.3).

Los Angeles has already confirmed its presence in the playoffs, but still has a chance of finishing in 1is rank of the AFC. The Chargers need to win their final two games against the Texans and Broncos, but also have to hope for at least one loss from the Jaguars and Patriots.

The Texans play at SoFi Stadium for the first time on Saturday. The Chargers had the upper hand in the last meeting between the two teams, winning by a score of 34-24 on October 2, 2022.
