Texans Clinch NFL Playoffs: 2024 Update

The Houston Texans have made it to the playoffs in the NFL professional league. The US football team around quarterback CJ Stroud won 20:16 at the Los Angeles Chargers on matchday 17 of the regular season and can therefore no longer be pushed out of the coveted places for the final round on the last matchday. For the Texans it is the third playoff appearance in a row.

The victims of the Texans’ victory were the Indianapolis Colts, who no longer have a chance of taking part in the final round without any action of their own. In addition, the Denver Broncos also benefited from the Chargers’ defeat; the team from Colorado is now assured of victory in the AFC West division and thus at least one guaranteed home game in the playoffs.

Baltimore preserves playoff chance – Henry excels

The Baltimore Ravens kept their remaining chance of participating in the playoffs. Led by a sensational running back Derrick Henry, the Ravens won 41:24 at the Green Bay Packers. Henry ran for four touchdowns, more than ever in a single game in his career. His 216 yards of space gain was also a personal best this season.

Both teams competed without their regular quarterbacks. Baltimore missed Lamar Jackson with a back injury and was replaced by Tyler Huntley. For the Packers, Jordan Love was sidelined with a concussion and Malik Willis took his place. Willis in particular showed a strong performance despite the defeat and not only threw a touchdown pass, but also ran into the end zone twice himself.

Ravens rely on shooting help

Despite the victory, Baltimore no longer has its fate in its own hands. The Ravens will have to hope that the Pittsburgh Steelers lose at the Cleveland Browns on Sunday night. Only then would there be a direct duel for the last playoff ticket in the AFC Conference on the last day of the main round in the game between Baltimore and Pittsburgh.
