Until January 5, everyone can vote for their favorite “Volleyball of the Year Award 2025”, organized by the Latvian Volleyball Federation. Among the nominees this year are Daugavpils athletes who have won high achievements both nationally and internationally.
In the “Team of the Year” nomination, Latvia and Daugavpils are represented by the men’s volleyball team “Ezerzeme”/Daugavpils University. Under the leadership of head coach Rihardas Pukišis, the team had a strong and productive 2024/2025 season. season, proving its place among the leading volleyball clubs in Latvia. “Ezerzeme”/DU took 4th place in the Baltic League, became the silver medal winner of the Latvian Championship and triumphed in the CEWOOD Latvian Cup 2025, winning the national trophy. These achievements make the Daugavpils team one of the most convincing contenders for victory in their nomination.
The nomination “Beach volleyball team of the year” is also important for Daugavpils, where Latvia is represented by Tīna Graudiņa and Anastasija Samoilova from Daugavpils. The Latvian duo became world champions in beach volleyball, winning gold medals and achieving historic success in the international arena.
Public vote in nominations: Volleyball Player of the Year, Volleyball Player of the Year, Team of the Year, Beach Volleyball Team of the Year and Rising Star of the Year. Voting continues until January 5, 2026 (inclusive) on the website balso.volejbols.lv. The results of the public vote will make up 30% of the total evaluation, while the final decision will be made by combining the decision of the LVF Voting Commission, the evaluation of the media jury and the results of the public vote.
The “Volleyball of the Year Awards 2025” award ceremony will take place on January 24, 2026.
Daugavpils athletes are among the strongest applicants, and the support of the residents can be decisive. We invite you to vote for “Ezerzeme”/DU in the “Team of the Year” nomination and to support Tina Graudiņas and Anastasia Samoilova in the “Beach Volleyball Team of the Year” nomination.
