Sport begins a process of renewing its workforce with the aim of professionalizing its departments. As a starting point, the Club presents two professionals with extensive experience in their areas. These are Diego Pérez, new communications director and Felipe Rossetto, legal director.
Diego Pérez is a journalist, with a postgraduate degree in planning and management. He is an old acquaintance of Pernambuco and Brazilian journalism, with stints at major outlets such as Portal Metrópoles, SBT NE, TV Jornal, TV Guararapes, TV Nova and Blog do Torcedor.
Among his experiences in football, he has covered international events, such as two World Cups, a Confederations Cup and more than 200 days following the Brazilian team. In addition to having been Secretary of Sports of Pernambuco for a period of almost eight years.
According to the new red-black communications director, it is a great honor and responsibility to work at the Club as it has, above all, a great family and emotional appeal.
“For me it is a great honor, but also a great responsibility to work at Sport. The idea is to foster this bridge, between the Club, the fans and the media. All this using a lot of respect and credibility, which will naturally generate a greater rapprochement between the institution, all its employees and, above all, the one who really makes everything move: the red and black fans.”
In this moment of regaining strength, pride and bond with the fans, Diego Perez has Leão’s DNA as one of his hallmarks to play the role.
“Respect, closeness and connection, these will be our hallmarks. I can speak in a personal way, as my father was a professional goalkeeper for the Club, then a coach in the youth divisions and also a goalkeeper trainer here. In addition to all this history, my entire family has this bond with Sport”, he stated.
Felipe Rossetto is a lawyer specializing in Sports and Labor Law, with his entire career built in professional football. He has worked at large offices in São Paulo, and also at Santos Futebol Clube, where he worked for almost five years, both in the legal department and in the football department, participating in negotiations, contracts and strategic legal management.
He was also a partner at Carlezzo Advogados, a reference firm specializing in football law, and his last job was as Legal and Business Manager for Football at Botafogo (PB) SAF. There, he was responsible for contracts, registrations, negotiations and sports litigation with the CNRD, FIFA and CAS, in addition to the institutional interface with Federations and the CBF.
According to Rossetto, the expectation is to make Sport increasingly structured and therefore competitive.
“Football today goes far beyond the four lines. My career has taught me that organization, planning and well-thought-out decisions, together, make a difference on the field. I arrive at Sport very motivated to contribute, work seriously and help the Club to strengthen itself in all aspects.”
“The expectation is to contribute to an increasingly competitive, structured and winning football, equal to the greatness of Sport, placing it in the place it should not have left, with the necessary professionalism and giving the fans the commitment they expect from all professionals who wear this shirt”, concluded Felipe Rossetto.
