【Sokcho】Sokcho City Hall public officials are taking the lead in practicing love for neighbors by continuing warm sharing this year.
On the 9th, Sokcho City Hall employees donated 10 million won in donations, which they had voluntarily raised by collecting their last paychecks, to the Gangwon Community Chest of Korea. On this day, the National Office of Sokcho Community Headquarters, comprised of Sokcho City Hall officials and higher-ranking officials, donated 2 million won in donations to support vulnerable groups who have difficulty heating in the winter and directly delivered a total of 1,000 briquettes to households in the Jungang Market area.
Donations and volunteer work at the club level are also continuing. Sokcho City Hall’s baseball club, as well as soccer and futsal clubs, donated 1,000 briquettes on the 23rd of last month and delivered them directly to neighbors in need. On the 20th, the badminton club plans to participate in a warm sharing procession.
This year, Sokcho City deeply sympathized with disaster situations in other regions and provided nationwide support. Last April, city hall employees voluntarily donated 10 million won to victims of simultaneous forest fires in the Yeongnam region. Last August, 10,000 bottles of bottled water worth 10 million won were provided to Gangneung City, which was experiencing an extreme drought.
All of these donations and support are made possible through financial resources raised through the voluntary participation of public officials at Sokcho City Hall.
Choi Sang-gu, head of the Autonomous Administration Department, said, “The sharing of public officials in Sokcho City is not a one-time event, but is established as an ongoing practice,” and added, “We will continue to continue our administration with neighbors in need both inside and outside the region.”
