WTA 125 LIMOGES – Anna Sisková (24) did not reach her lifetime achievement. In Limoges, France, in the quarter-finals after a fight, she lost to second-seeded domestic player Else Jacquemot (22) after sets 6:3, 3:6 and 4:6. The French woman’s next opponent will be the winner of the duel between the German Friedsamová (31) and the domestic Rakotomanga Rajaonahová (19).
Sisková – Jacquemotová 6:3, 3:6, 4:6
Sisková entered the fight for her life’s success completely without nerves. The Czech tennis player, who before the tournament was ranked 284th, did not care at all about the fact that Jacquemotová, the 59th ranked player, was against her.
As in the previous duels, she tried to dictate the pace of the game and mostly the active way of playing worked for her. Sisková, who reached the main competition from the qualification, also went to the net for points and won her serve games without any major problems.
The Czech tennis player had four opportunities to break her opponent’s serve at 3:2, but the Frenchwoman responded each time with an excellent serve, warded off the danger and leveled her stride.
However, the native of Lyon did not repeat the same piece during her next submission. On Sisková, she tried to practice a game full of rhythm changes and stopballs, but it had no effect. The native of Olomouc moved excellently, she was also flawless at the net and took the lead 5:3. Subsequently, she completed the set without any problems and won the first set in 44 minutes 6:3.
Missed chances in the second set
Sisková ran into the first problems on her serve in the match in the fourth game of the second set and immediately paid for it. Jacquemot confirmed the second break opportunity and took the lead 3:1. However, the Frenchwoman responded to the first success on the return with another lost serve of her own, Sisková immediately confirmed her serve and the score was tied at 3:3.
It could have been even happier for the Czech Republic, in the very next game she led 40:15 on her opponent’s serve, but did not use the break opportunity. She must have regretted it all the more because in the very next game she was the one who lost her serve, and Jacquemot did not let go of the lead. In 42 minutes, she also won the set 6:3 and sent the match to the deciding set.
Unnecessary bugs and broken game
Both tennis players entered it confidently, winning their serves with clean play. But Sisková got more out of the game over time, she did well especially when playing at the net. In the sixth game, she broke her opponent’s serve for the first time in the third set and took the lead 4:2.
However, the Czech Republic failed to confirm the break, immediately she too lost the advantage of service and the set was headed for a dramatic ending. At 4:4, however, the weight of the moment fell on the Czech tennis player. She couldn’t handle the ninth game at all, surrendering the game to her opponent with four unforced errors and losing 4:5.
Jacquemot did not waste the offered chance, she added to the match and after two hours and 11 minutes celebrated the win 6:3, 3:6, 4:6.
