Latvian cross-country skier Patricia Eiduk took 15th place in the third stage of the World Cup in Switzerland on Sunday in the ten kilometer freestyle competition with a separate start.

The fastest on the track was Norwegian athlete Karuline Simpson-Läšen, who reached the finish line after 26 minutes and 34.9 seconds. She was 2.1 seconds ahead of Sweden’s Moo Illar, while another Norwegian, Astrid Slinn, lost 2.2 seconds to her compatriot and rounded out the top three.

Eiduka finished in 27 minutes and 33.4 seconds and was 58.5 seconds behind the best result holder, which gave her 15th place in the competition of 76 skiers.

In the last week of December, the prestigious “Tour de Ski” series will start in the Italian city of Toblach.

In January, the World Cup stages will be held on the German track in Oberhof and the Swiss village of Goms, before the best cross-country skiers will compete in the Milan-Cortina d’Ampezzo Olympic Games from February 7 to 22.

After the Olympic Games, the World Cup competitions will also be held on the Swedish track in Falun, in the Norwegian cities of Drammen and Oslo, as well as in the American city of Lake Placid.
