San Lorenzo: Athletes Honored at Sports Gala | El Escorial News

Last Friday San Lorenzo de El Escorial celebrated the 25th edition of its traditional Sports Gala. An event that rewards athletes who have stood out for their achievements and contributions to the development of sports in the municipality during the year.

73 winners at the San Lorenzo de El Escorial Sports Gala

On this occasion, the total number of winners is 73 athletes; among the disciplines: Chess; Athletics; Aquathlon; Badminton; Cycling; Enduro; Fencing; Artistic Gymnastics; Rhythmic Gymnastics and Swimming. In addition, two Sports Merit Medals will be awarded to the athlete Julia Maroto Herranz and the sports journalist Eduardo Aguirre Redecilla.

Julia Maroto, medal for sporting merit

Julia Maroto has represented the Community of Madrid on several occasions, in Spanish Championships by federations; both on track and cross country. She has participated with the team from sub-16 to senior level and has established herself as one of the best in the specialty in Madrid. He has won the regional championships of 400, 800 and 1500 ml. In 2023 he won his first individual medal at the national level, achieving bronze in the 800 ml event in Salamanca.
