Salah: Liverpool Bench Role & Transfer Claims

After another game in which he didn’t even leave the Liverpool bench, Mohamed Salah didn’t hold back when talking about his moment at the club.

The bombastic statements came after the Reds drew 3-3 with Leeds this Saturday (6).

I can’t believe it, I’m very disappointed (…) FI did a lot for this club, everyone can see that over the years, especially last season. Being on the bench, . I feel like the club is abandoning me to my fate. This is how I feel.”, he highlighted.

The 33-year-old Egyptian striker made it clear that he has no relationship whatsoever with coach Arne Slot.

I had a good relationship with the coach. Suddenly, we no longer have any relationship. I don’t know why. Looks like someone doesn’t want me in the club.”

Salah will only be available for one more Liverpool game in 2025. Saturday (13), the challenge will be against Brighton at Anfield.

A duel that could even mark a definitive farewell, as he will represent Egypt in the African Cup of Nations next and the winter window will be open from January 1st.

Vwe know what will happen. It is at Anfield that I say goodbye to the fans. I’m going to the African Cup of Nations… because I don’t know what will happen when I’m there anyway.”, he concluded.

Salah was a target of Saudi football for several months, but renewed his contract with Liverpool for two more seasons in April this year. In other words: you have a contract until July 2027.

He was not used in the 2-0 win over West Ham on the 30th. He came off the bench during the 1-1 win against Sunderland last Wednesday (3) and was left out again this Saturday.

He has played 19 games this season, with five goals scored and three assists. He was a starter on 16 occasions.

Lenda not Liverpool

Salah arrived at the Reds in July 2017 for 42 million euros after excelling at Roma.

There was a lot of distrust, as his time at Chelsea left something to be desired.

But the Egyptian striker didn’t take long to deliver what was expected of him.

His first season saw 44 goals and 14 assists – a career high.

He has always scored at least 23 goals per season – not counting the current one.

He is the fourth highest scorer in the history of the Premier League with 190 goals.

Only Alan Shearer (260), Kane (213) and Rooney (208) have scored more.

And he boasts the status of Liverpool’s third highest scorer, with 250.

Only Ian Rush (346) and Roger Hunt (285) are ahead of him.

He has eight titles with the Reds: Champions (2018/2019), Club World Cup (2019), Premier League (2019-2020 and 2024-2025), FA Cup (2021-22), English League Cup (2021-2022), English Super Cup (2022), and UEFA Super Cup (2019)
