Dunwoody High is remodeling its football stadium, and it just received an undisclosed donation from TV personality Ryan Seacrest to help make it happen.

El Atlanta Journal-Constitution informs that the stadium is not currently large enough for the Dunwoody Wildcats to host games, with only 1,000 seats. Therefore, it has to share it with Chamblee High School at North DeKalb Stadium.

Along with other donations and fundraising efforts, Seacrest donated a large undisclosed amount to the school.

Why did Ryan Seacrest donate to Dunwoody High?

In fact, it is the television personality’s alma mater, and he has always had a close connection to the city.

According to 11 AliveDistrict 1 School Board member Andrew Ziffer said during a meeting,

Despite their national visibility, Ryan and his family have remained deeply connected to Dunwoody. “His support of the stadium project represents a moment in which a Dunwoody Wildcat, a DeKalb County student, gives back to the school that helped him forge his first opportunities.”

Seacrest also made the morning announcements at Dunwoody High School while he was enrolled there, earning his nickname, “The Voice of Dunwoody.”

What will the stadium be called?

The DeKalb County School Board approved the name of Seacrest Stadium for the renovated stadium.

If the committee is able to reach the campaign goal, then the Wildcats will be able to play on their field, becoming the first high school in DeKalb County to have their own field on campus.

Yay, Seacrest Stadium! We see you. We are excited about the new Dunwoody High stadium.
