Rodion Kuruc: Key Role in Euroleague Record-Breaking Game

“Baskonia” lost 124:134 (26:17, 27:30, 22:23, 22:27, 9:9, 16:16, 2:12) to “Barcelona” in the third overtime.

Marcus Howard, who made six of seven long-range shots, stood out for Vitoria with 33 points and six assists, Timothy Luvavu-Cabarro had 26 points, and Mamadi Diakite and Halifa Diop scored 14 points each.

Kevin Panter was the top scorer for Barcelona with 43 points, Tomas Satoranski had 23 points, eight rebounds and six assists, Will Clyburn scored 12 points and Willy Hernangomez, who also grabbed eight rebounds, and Dario Brizel had 11 points.

“Baskonia” is in 15th place with six victories, while “Barcelona” is the vice-leader with 12 victories, accumulating the same balance as the leader “Hapoel” Tel Aviv.

Each of the 20 teams in the Euroleague will play 38 games until mid-April. The six best teams of the main tournament will enter the quarterfinals, while the seventh to tenth place winners will compete in the “play-in” round.

This season, the Euroleague final four tournament will be held in Athens at the end of May.

Last season, when the final four tournament was held in Abu Dhabi, Istanbul “Fenerbahce” became the champion, beating the French club “Monaco” in the final with 81:70.
