After a turbulent Celtic exit

Brendan Rodgers has found a new club and is moving to a country outside Great Britain for the first time in his career. The long-time coach of Celtic Glasgow is joining Al-Qadsiah FC in Saudi Arabia.
The club of Julian Weigl, Koen Casteels and Serie A record sale Mateo Retegui officially introduced the 52-year-old Northern Irishman on Tuesday. He takes over from Spaniard Míchel, who led Al-Qadsiah from the Saudi First Division League back to the Saudi Pro League in 2024. Despite investing 124 million euros last summer, they are currently only in fifth place, and Al-Qadsiah had to bow out in the quarter-finals of the King’s Cup last Friday.
Rodgers resigned from Celtic in October after months of mudslinging. In an official statement after the exit, owner Dermot Desmond accused him of having created a “poisoned atmosphere” (to the news).
