A badminton-playing robot has set a new Guinness World Record by achieving 1,452 consecutive volleys during a controlled attempt in China, according to record officials.
The feat was verified by Guinness after the machine maintained uninterrupted returns of a shuttlecock at a dedicated test facility.
The robot’s performance surpassed the previous record for most consecutive badminton volleys by a machine, drawing attention to advances in robotics and automated athletic training technologies. Engineers programmed the device with high-speed sensors and precision motion systems to track and hit the shuttlecock repeatedly without human intervention.
Guinness World Records reviewed submitted footage and certification materials before officially recognizing the achievement. The record entry highlights how robotics can sustain complex repetitive tasks at high speed over extended periods.
