Renzo Monchietti: National Archery Champion

The young man from Rio Grande do Sul, 16 years old, won the title in the National Final held in San Miguel de Tucumán. He joined the Fuegian team with Manuel Morillas and stood out among more than 230 competitors in the country.

RÍO GRANDE.- Local athlete Renzo Monchietti Águila, 16, was crowned national team champion in an archery competition held between November 21 and 23 in the city of San Miguel de Tucumán.

The Fuegian team, made up of Renzo Monchietti Águila and Manuel Morillas.

More than 234 archers from different provinces participated in the event called “National Outdoor Final”, organized at the San Miguel Bow School. In that instance, the Fuegian team made up of Monchietti Águila and Manuel Morillas exhibited the high sporting level of the Fuegian Archery Association (AFTA) of this city.

Renzo competed in the U-18 category, Olympic Recurve modality; while Morillas participated in the Traditional modality. In total, the category brought together nine teams from La Rioja, Entre Ríos, Córdoba, Buenos Aires, Capital Federal and Tierra del Fuego; In this competition there were also athletes from Ushuaia.

The competition was held in the city of San Miguel de Tucumán.

Monchietti Águila was also the only representative of Patagonia to achieve a victory in this edition of the national tournament.
