Regina Valdez: Potosí Archery Tournament Success

To close the year in competitions where outstanding archery athletes meet, Regina Valdez Jarquín from Morelos participated in the Halcones Classic Indoor 2025, in the state of San Luis Potosí, where she placed 17th and obtained a notable ranking. This was announced by the Institute of Sports and Physical Culture of the State of Morelos (Indem), directed by Juan Felipe Domínguez Robles.

In this regard, it was detailed that the indoor modality is played indoors, where factors such as wind or weather are not what influence, but rather technique and concentration are decisive. Regarding her results, Regina Valdez added 887 points (out of 900) after registering partials of 294, 297 and 296, accumulating 77 X, which allowed her to place 17th in block A of the competition.

Likewise, it was highlighted that said block concentrated the best-ranked archers, selected from more than 150 competitors aged 14 and over; Valdez Jarquín was part of this group, made up of the best 30 in the competition, who played one round per day. In this format, the woman from Morelos surpassed her personal bests in the modality.

In addition to this, the woman from Morelos continues to forge history in state sports, since at the Conade 2025 National Olympiad she became the first woman from “The land that unites us” to climb to the podium in this discipline, where she obtained two silver medals. Additionally, she has competed in tournaments such as the Presidents Cup, where she became national champion, and in competitions organized by the archery association.

Finally, the head of Indem highlighted the role of Omar Valdez, who served as a coach during this competition, and whose support has been a fundamental driving force in the athlete’s sporting development, contributing to her discipline and emotional stability.
