End of financial year and balance sheet date, such as the one known this Monday regarding the income of professional clubs from audiovisual rights for the 2024-25 season, generally down compared to the previous campaign. Real Madrid is the leader in this section with a total of 157.92 million euros received, which represents 11% of the total of 1,432 million that LaLiga has distributed between the First and Second category clubs.
The employers’ association of professional clubs has reported that, in compliance with the provisions of the 2015 royal decree regarding urgent measures in relation to the commercialization of the exploitation rights of audiovisual content of professional football competitions, it published this Monday the amounts corresponding to each club.
After the adjustments motivated by the Impulso Plan agreement with the CVC fund, Real Madrid is the entity that receives the most rights, although slightly less than the 160 million it received in the 23-24 campaign. The club chaired by Florentino Pérez exceeds by just one and a half million the 156.45 million that Barcelona, the current League champion, earns and which also receives considerably less than the 162.49 million that it obtained the previous year.
For its part, Atlético is the third team that earns the most money from television rights, although also with its cache on the decline, going from 117.89 million to the current 108.17. It turns out that of the 1,432 million euros distributed by the 1,498 million of the previous season, only the promoted Elche, Levan and Oviedo, in addition to Girona, after their historic qualification for the Champions League, saw their audiovisual income grow.
Regarding LaLiga Hypermotion, the organization chaired by Javier Tebas has distributed 173.30 million euros, with the three teams that were relegated from the First Division receiving the most. Thus, Cádiz receives 22.62 million euros, followed by Almería (18.80) and Granada (17.16).
LaLiga made it clear that, within the framework of the obligations applicable to the 2024-25 season, it is allocating 2.5% to a Compensation Fund from which sports entities that are relegated to the Second Division can benefit. In addition, the Association of Spanish Footballers (AFE) receives 6.87 million and Footballers ON, 290,000 euros.
