The Hauts-de-Seine club was heading towards success on the Stade Français pitch this Saturday, before conceding the draw at the end of stoppage time.
Patrice Collazo, manager of Racing 92: “A crazy atmosphere, a melting stadium, a real derby. But a tough, tough result. It plays out in the money of the money of the money time. We missed a minute. Morality, we will train longer. But I thanked the players for the beautiful image of Racing that they gave. They were dense for 80 minutes. (…) We only pay half but, during this holiday season, Racing knows how to be generous… (His reaction to the Parisian public singing ”everyone hates Racing”) Honestly, it’s not a big deal. I like it when it’s a little electric.”
Gaël Fickou, captain of Racing 92: “We are disappointed because we have to win this match. We deserve to win it. This draw is therefore enormously frustrating. (…) We must work even harder to better collectively control the end of the match. We have two touches at the end and, if we manage to get out cleanly, the derby is won. (An electric derby?) That’s windy! There is so much energy, commitment, stress throughout the week that sometimes it gets stuck. It just heats up the audience. But there’s nothing bad. In reality, nothing happens. Off the field, we are all friends and we respect each other.»
