The Swiss U17 squad finished the group phase at the European Championships in Arrecife in second place. The team with Ainara Putri (16) from Fislisbach won 3:2 against Austria and 5:0 against Latvia. In the “final game” against top favorite France, however, a clear 0:5 followed. Ainara Putri competed in mixed doubles with Santiago Arauio, among others. The EYOF silver medalists led 16-13 and 18-16 in the second set but missed out on victory. In the singles, Putri’s final stop was in the third round: after victories against Jill Felten from Luxembourg and Marta Sousa from Hungary, she clearly lost to Diya Cherian, who plays for Denmark.
