Paris Saint-Germain scored a big victory against Stade Rennais (5-0) this Saturday evening, for the 5th day of Ligue 1.
PSG’s response was scathing. Beaten last weekend in Monaco (1-0), Luis Enrique’s men set the record straight. This Saturday evening in front of their audience at the Parc des Princes, the European champions crushed Stade Rennais (5-0), as part of the 15th day of Ligue 1.
The Parisians took the lead in the first period, with two shots on target from Kvaratskhelia on the counter-attack (28e) and Mayulu after a great collective sequence (39e). Dominated, the Bretons nevertheless created chances, but fell on a decisive Safonov, he who replaced the injured Chevalier.
In difficulty but capable of being dangerous, Habib Beye’s men completely sank in the second half. Kvaratskhelia scored a double (67e), before Rennes was reduced to ten following a second yellow card received by Jacquet (74e).
PSG drops OM
Cornered at the end of the match, the Rouge et Noir conceded two new goals, from Mbaye (88e) and Ramos (90e+1). A heavy score for the Rennais, who fell against a Parisian team which showed a much better face than against the Monegasques.
With this success, the Parisians come back one step behind the Lensois leader, winner of Nantes a little earlier in the day (1-2), and push OM back to four points. Next meeting for the French champions: Athletic Bilbao, Wednesday.
