Paisas Basketball Champion: Colombia & Antioquia Sports Glory

Paisas wrote a new chapter in the history of Antioquia sports by being crowned two-time champion of Colombian professional basketball. With a resounding 81-69 (3-0 series) victory over Cimarrones del Chocó, the team sealed an unprecedented achievement for Antioquia: its first two-time championship in this discipline.

The El Jardín Coliseum was the scene of an unforgettable night. Although Paisas began with difficulties against a rival that imposed the pace in the first quarter (19-13), the Antioquian reaction did not take long. With defensive adjustments, greater offensive effectiveness and a display of collective character, the team was recovering ground: 25-21 in the second quarter and 18-16 in the third, getting closer and closer to the definitive comeback.

The last quarter was a display of authority. Paisas dominated 29-9 and staged an impressive 20-0 rally that unleashed euphoria in the stands and sealed the match. The final score, 81-69, sealed a flawless sweep in the final series.

The figures of commitment were decisive. Erick Crawford scored 18 points; Chris Crawford, 16; and Luis Almanza, 13, ratifying his leadership. Almanza Soriano, a member of the Colombian National Team, was chosen MVP of the Finals and celebrated his first title as a professional.

This milestone consolidates Paisas at the top of national basketball and consolidates Antioquia as a sports power.
