Nicolás Morales: Colombia’s Badminton Bronze & Quindío’s Pride

Quindío badminton continues to make history. Nicolás Morales, the talented athlete whose brother, established himself as one of the fundamental figures in obtaining the team bronze medal for the Colombian National Team during the XX South American Senior Championship, recently held in Bucaramanga.

The Quindian, who has had decisive support from the department’s sports authorities, was part of the national squad that successfully faced important delegations such as Brazil, Peru, Ecuador and Chile. This third place is not only a trophy for the Federation’s showcases, but also confirmation that the talent of Quindío is the driving force of the Colombian National Team in the senior category.

In the individual modality, Morales carried the colors of the department until the quarterfinals. In an epic battle that lasted until the third set, the Quindian fell to a representative from Brazil, demonstrating that, despite being his first year in the Senior category, he has the level to be on a first-name basis with the continent’s elite.

After this success in Santander, the member of the national team closes his competitive calendar. Morales will now enter a physical recovery phase to begin his preparation for the 2026 season, with the aim of continuing to bring the Quindío name to the top of the international podiums.
