A CBS television camera captured video of Metcalf attempting to punch a fan wearing a blue wig who had called out to him. The Steelers player aimed a shot at the fan in question, who appeared to have been slightly injured.

The Detroit Free Press found the fan, a man named Ryan Kennedy, originally from Michigan. He initially responded that he calls himself “the biggest Lions fan who was just attacked by DeKaylin Zecharius Metcalf.”

“I’m a little in shock,” he told the journalist. Everyone talks to me, I just want the Lions to win. I’m a little shaken.”

“He tore my sweater”

According to him, DK Metcalf would not have liked him to call him by his full name and that is why the situation degenerated.

“He doesn’t like being called by the name that’s on his passport. He grabbed me and tore my sweater,” the fan said.

The fan was encountered by officers in the stadium, who asked his version of the incident. As for Metcalf, he was not punished during the match because “there was no handkerchief on the field.”

The 28-year-old wide receiver could, however, be suspended or fined by the NFL.
