World and European champion Dennis Schröder suffered a bitter defeat in the NBA. The captain of the German national basketball team lost with the Sacramento Kings 90:131 to the Los Angeles Clippers.
With eleven points and four assists, Schröder was one of the more efficient players for the Kings, who are second to last in the West with a record of 8:25 victories.
The Clippers (11:21) are slightly better, but were clearly superior. The veteran stars Kawhi Leonard with 33 points and James Harden with 21 made the difference. The Kings’ most successful thrower was Nique Clifford with 18 points.
NBA: Nothing to be gained for Kleber and Lakers
There was also nothing to gain for Maximilian Kleber and the Los Angeles Lakers. The German’s team lost in the top game against the Detroit Pistons 106:128. Kleber remained without a point, but collected a rebound. Luka Doncic (30 points) and LeBron James (17) on his 41st birthday fought against the defeat in vain.
“We haven’t had a complete team all year. Some very important players are missing. It’s very hard to find a rhythm on the field. But the better team won,” said James. Coach JJ Redick criticized a total of 20 turnovers, which the Pistons used to score 30 points: “That killed us.”
