Narrating Track: EAV Station Piazza Garibaldi

For the entire Christmas period, the EAV station in Naples Piazza Garibaldi hosts “Il Binario Narrante”, the marketing action supported by the ilCartastorie Foundation – Historical Archive Museum of the Banco di Napoli on the occasion of the thirtieth anniversary of the Sorrento Peninsula Award.
The installation, conceived and directed by Mario Esposito, was created by Exibarte Communication, with the participation of Sergio Riolo for ilCartastorie, and transforms the railway platform into a narrative journey that intertwines cinema, historical memory, urban art and digital innovation. The project is divided into three scenes. One is dedicated to the management of the Banco di Napoli Foundation, with statements from Orazio Abbamonte (president), Ciro Castaldo (general director) and Marcello D’Aponte (president of the Historical Archive), testifying to the vision of an open and contemporary archive.
The central element of the installation is the use of QR codes present in each scene, which allow citizens and tourists to discover the ilCartastorie Foundation and its extraordinary Historical Archive, encouraging the meeting between cinema and the Historical Archive of the Banco di Napoli: some scenes of the film “Maccheroni” by Ettore Scola with Jack Lemmon and Marcello Mastroianni were filmed in the spaces of the Archive. And on the occasion of the thirtieth anniversary of the Award, which took place last October in Sorrento, the special ilCartastorie Award was established, awarded to Stefano Dionisi. The actor, together with Simona Cavallari, Violante Placido, Flavio Insinna and Danny Quinn, is the protagonist of the last scene of the installation, “Identity – the faces of the thirty-year anniversary”. Through a QR code it is possible to access the special created on Rai Cinema Channel, media partner of the event. “Il Binario Narrante” represents a welcome to Naples and invites you to continue your journey in the headquarters of the Historical Archive of the Banco di Napoli, located a few meters from Garibaldi station (via dei Tribunali 213), in the heart of the historic centre. Around the installation, the Sorrento Peninsula Award promotes laboratories, workshops and Christmas press tours dedicated to young people and urban art. The final initiative, a BarCamp, will be held on 29 December (11am) as part of the “Christmas Experience 30 Plus”, with the support of the Metropolitan City of Naples. A project that unites the Sorrento Peninsula Award, the Banco di Napoli Foundation, the ilCartastorie Foundation and the Rai Cinema Channel, transforming waiting for a train into a cultural and identity experience.
