TOPS
Moala, a successful first
George Moala made his first appearance in the Top 14 this season perfectly. For his baptism of fire with ASM, the center delivered a complete performance, as solid in defense as valuable offensively. It was he who put his team on the right track by scoring the second try in the 22nd minute, an interval shot, power, and an action that he concluded himself. A convincing first, where he showed why he is so important in the Auvergne squad.

The ASM forwards are well present
The forwards were also there. In the oven and at the mill throughout the meeting, they did very badly in attack, especially on the balls carried, dangerous after each touch. Defensively, they displayed exemplary courage, never giving up, even during the complicated passage back from the locker room. In the scrum, they damaged the Bordeaux pack. A success built largely thanks to their enormous work.
Depoortere wanted
Depoortere is the rare satisfaction on the Bordeaux side this Saturday evening. The center tried everything in attack and was, by far, the most dangerous on his team. With 86 meters covered, three crossings and as many defenders beaten, the young French international often made the difference with ball in hand. A little lonely, he nonetheless delivered a very good performance.

FLOPS
Jauneau, the tile
The only small cloud in the Clermont blue sky, the loss of its captain. While ASM had regained color by leading 20-7 against Union Bordeaux-Bègles, Clermont suffered a hard blow with the injury of its international scrum half Baptiste Jauneau. Hit in the thigh, he had to give up his place in the 42nd minute, leaving the pitch in tears. At the microphone of Canal+, Frédéric Charrier, assistant to Christophe Urios, indicated that it would a priori be a hamstring injury. Jauneau was replaced by Sébastien Bézy. A hard blow in a very successful evening for the ASM.
Dépassé hammer
Boris Palu had a complicated evening this Saturday evening at the Michelin. Like his teammates in the Bordeaux pack, the second line was unable to respond to the impact imposed by the Auvergne forwards. Faulty on the first penalty attempt, he then left his team in difficulty after a yellow card. Reduced to 14, the European champions suffered another try straight away. A difficult match for the Frenchman, unfortunately one of the symbols of Bordeaux’s defeat.
