MIJO CAKTAŠ, a 33-year-old midfielder and one of the most effective players in the history of Hajduk, could make a sensational return to Croatian football. After a short episode in Cyprus, Caktaš is looking for a new club, and, according to unofficial information, he could continue his career in the second division team Dugopolje.
An unsuccessful Cypriot adventure
Just a few months ago, Caktaš went to Cypriot Anorthosis as a free agent, but he did not play there. He collected only 147 minutes in the game, after which he terminated his cooperation and is now looking for a new engagement.

Information about the negotiations with Dugopolje was published by the “CroatianFootballNews” profile on the X social network, and it has also been mentioned in managerial circles in the last few days. If the transfer takes place, Caktaš would play in Dugopolje with another former captain of Hajduk – Zoran Nižić.
Rich career and impressive numbers
Caktaš scored 97 goals in 228 appearances for Hajduk. In 2016, he left Poljud for the Russian club Rubin from Kazan, and after returning to Hajduk he played for the Saudi Damac, Osijek and the Turkish clubs Sivasspor and Kocaelispor. He also left a big mark in Osijek, where he scored 24 goals in 70 appearances, confirming his status as a top scorer.
