Since Melker Nilsson joined from Malmö FF in the summer of 2019, the central midfielder has managed to play over 200 games for FFF. He has long been a key player in the team and, happily, Melker has chosen to extend his contract with the club by two years.
Melker Nilsson passed 200 games for Gulvitt at the end of last season. Before the last home game of the year against Västerås SK, “Melle” therefore had to receive a nice plaque. Now it is clear that there will be more matches in Gulvitt for our passer-skilled ball-winner in midfield. The 25-year-old has signed a new two-year contract with FFF.
– After the team’s fine season, it feels inspiring and fun to continue the journey and hopefully join the fight for a place in the Allsvenskan. It would have felt wonderful to be able to give it to the supporters who always support us. From day one I have enjoyed myself very well in the club and the city, with both players and managers. There was a lot of interest, which made the decision more difficult this time, but in the end it felt best to stay in Falkenbergs FF and continue the journey. Now I’m really excited to start my eighth season in the FFF, says Melker Nilsson.
He has no problem with his newly signed contract being seen as a really good Christmas present for FFF fans.
– Now if someone sees this as a nice Christmas present, no one is happier than me, says humble Melker Nilsson with a smile.
FFF’s sporting director Andreas Jankevics is very happy that another important piece of the puzzle is in place in the team building for next season.
– Melker Nilsson is a player who has made a difference for Falkenbergs FF for several years, so it is very gratifying that it is now clear that he will continue with us. For all supporters of Falkenbergs FF, one does not need to explain the importance of the performance that Melker has delivered for the association. Now we look forward to a continued journey together, which feels both nice and exciting, says Andreas Jankevics.
