Medellín Sports: Underwater, Archery, Triathlon & Cycling Results

48th Departmental Sports Games “Indeportees of Antioquia“, departmental final. Underwater activities and archery were in the hands of Medellín. The emotions of the final of the 2025 Departmental Sports Games reached their highest point this Thursday, December 4, when Girardota and Copacabana lived a penultimate day full of titles, definitions and outstanding performances that began to outline the closing of these multi-sports events. With disciplines that advanced towards their outcome and others that delivered champions, the “Everyone’s Game” reaffirmed why it is the most important sporting event in the department.

In Girardota, Medellín once again demonstrated its competitive strength by winning two more championships for its record in these finals. First he did it in underwater activities, where his athletes dominated the pool with a total of 24 gold medals. Then he celebrated again in archery, a discipline in which he accumulated 17 gold medals.

Triathlon, the showcase sport of this edition, handed out its medals and had Rionegro as the big winner, who added two golds in a day marked by physical and technical demands. Meanwhile, in road cycling, Jardín leads the classification with three golds, although two tests remain to be made official that will complete the final medal table for the discipline.

Copacabana was the scene of one of the most exciting stories of the day thanks to women’s soccer. There, the Apartadó team beat San Jerónimo 4-0 and made it to the grand final. One of the figures was Sharik Martínez, scorer of two goals, who expressed the team’s emotion after a victory that tasted like a reward. “We have made many sacrifices because some of our classmates study and others work, but we come to play because this is what we are passionate about.“, he stated. The midfielder, nicknamed “La Chiqui”, also showed the more human side of the sport: “When I mark I feel very happy and I think of my mother, a boar who has brought me and my brothers forward.”.

Meanwhile, the stages are being prepared for a final day this Friday, December 5, when the basketball and indoor soccer finals will be played in Girardota. And soccer and volleyball in Copacabana. Girardota will also crown the beach volleyball champions in both branches, and the field tennis and table tennis titles will also be defined.

Medellín continues as a solid leader with 159 gold, 156 silver and 138 bronze in the general medal table. Behind, the fight for second place is in maximum tension, with Envigado (74 golds), Apartadó (72) and Itagüí (68) fighting to stay in second place.
