The paths of Club Deportivo Bidasoa and Serbian Marko Jevtic crossed in the summer of 2023 and will remain together until at least June … 2028, after the renewal signed by both parties and announced yesterday from the Artaleku offices.
The club assures that “since his incorporation, Jevtic has established himself as a very important piece within the team. “His performance, commitment and adaptation to the group have been key in the team’s sporting development during this period.”
The renewal “reaffirms the club’s confidence in Marko Jevtic and the commitment to the stability and continuity of a player who represents the club’s values both on and off the court. We are confident that Marko Jevtic will continue to contribute his talent, experience and leadership to the team, contributing to the club’s objectives.
The Serbian center, 24 years old and who is on the list of 21 that his country has announced for the European Championship to be held in January in Norway, Sweden and Denmark, is a center specialized in defense, who in the center of it is complemented by other players such as Iñaki Peciña, Matheus da Silva and Eneko Furundarena. A rock that is often impenetrable, although he is also the yellow player with the most exclusions, eleven.
Precisely for this role he has few goals in his first two seasons as a Bidasotarra, 40 in 60 league games, but this season he is joining the attack more times and is taking advantage of that circumstance, with 20 goals in 15 games, doubling his average. In the eight games of the current European League he has scored six goals, which is almost as many as the eight he scored in the twelve games last season.
Spanish Cup, in the Canary Islands
Finally, the Spanish Federation confirmed where the Spanish Cup will be played on February 7 and 8. Just like the previous edition, it will be in the Canary Islands, but not in Lanzarote and in the Gran Canaria town of Telde.
The Spanish Cup, heir to the Asobal Cup, and whose first edition was held in Artaleku, brings together the four best teams at the end of the first round, which in this case were Barça, Dicorpebal Logroño La Rioja, Irudek Bidasoa Irun and Recoletas Atlético Valladolid. The first two will be seeded in a tournament that has a European ticket as a built-in prize although, contrary to what happens in the Copa del Rey, a runner-up who loses against Barça would not benefit from it, in which case the prize would go to the fourth place in the league.
