Nunes emphasized the importance of maintaining winning momentum in all competitions. He called this victory a firm statement.
For Nunes, beating Real Madrid in the Champions League will be useless if he fails in the league. They must not slip in pursuit of Arsenal.

“We knew it would be very important to make a statement and come here to win,” Nunes said.
“Because it doesn’t matter if we win against Madrid, then you come here and draw, then you are too far behind Arsenal,” he continued giving an analogy.
“So we knew it was very important to win the three points here and that’s what we did,” he concluded.

This victory also felt sweet thanks to the clean sheet record. City’s goal remained pristine despite being pressured by the opponent.
Nunes’ collaboration on the right side of the field was very fluid. The chemistry between the players made City’s attacks difficult to stop.
