Professional basketball team Changwon LG overcame a 17-point deficit against Suwon KT and continued its lead with a thrilling comeback win.

LG won 66 to 63 in the 2025-2026 LG Electronics professional basketball regular league home game against KT held today at Changwon Gymnasium.

LG, who won two consecutive games following the game against Hyundai Mobis the previous day, maintained the lead by accumulating 14 wins and 5 losses, widening the gap with 2nd place Anyang Cheongkwanjang (12 wins, 6 losses) to 1.5 games.

KT, which suffered two consecutive losses following the game against Samsung in Seoul on the 5th, maintained 6th place with 9 wins and 10 losses.

LG, who played for two days in a row, had trouble shooting in the second and third quarters and only managed to score 7 points each. At the end of the third quarter, they were pushed back by a score of 42 to 59, and it looked like they would be defeated.

However, LG, who started the 4th quarter with Michael Eric’s consecutive goals, ignited the chase with Yang Hong-seok’s outside shot.

LG, with its defensive concentration revived, had a chance to make a quick attack after a successful defense, and Yang Hong-seok finished under the goal, sharply narrowing the gap to 53-59 with 6 minutes and 10 seconds left.

Then, Eric’s dunk 4 minutes and 27 seconds ago and Yoo Yu-sang’s outside shot 2 minutes and 45 seconds ago put the team behind with a score of 58 to 59.

KT, which had rarely scored since the start of the 4th quarter, scored its first point with 2 minutes and 19 seconds left on Joel Kagulangan’s under-the-goal shot to make it 61-58, but LG’s Yoon Won-sang’s 3-point shot split the rim 1 minute and 34 seconds ago and brought the game back to square one, 61-61.

KT made it 63-61 with Isaiah Hicks’ goal with 36.1 seconds left, but LG turned the game over to 64-63 with Yang Hong-seok’s 3-pointer 24.7 seconds ago.

Afterwards, KT Moon Jung-hyun’s outside shot missed, and LG completed the comeback with Assem Marey adding 2 points just before the end.

Yang Hong-seok led the way in victory by scoring 21 points, including a decisive 3-point shot, and Marey showed off his power behind the goal with 20 points and 19 rebounds.

LG was only able to make 3 out of 23 3-point shots until the 3rd quarter, but showed concentration by making 4 out of 7 shots in the 4th quarter.

At KT, Hicks recorded the most in the team with 18 points and 8 rebounds.

Goyang Sono won the away game against Samsung with a score of 75-59.

Sono, with 8 wins and 11 losses on the season, rose to a tie for 7th place with Samsung.

Sono’s Kevin Kembao scored 19 points, including 5 3-point shots, Nathan Knight had 16 points and 17 rebounds, and Lee Jeong-hyun had 16 points and 5 assists.

For Samsung, Kerem Kanter played hard with 13 points and 10 rebounds.

The two teams faced each other for the first time on the 4th after Samsung carried out a 2-2 trade on the 4th, sending guard Lee Dong-yeop and forward Cha Min-seok to Sono and receiving forward Jeong Seong-jo and center Park Jin-cheol.

Among the traded players, Lee Dong-yeop, wearing a Sono uniform, was the only one to play, playing about 9 minutes and recording 2 points and 1 assist.
