The community of La Caleta, in Boca Chica, is shocked after a violent event that claimed the life of Elvin Sadel Urbáez Delgado.
The 19-year-old was killed in the incident, while his younger brother, Erwin Sadel, 18, was seriously injured in the attack.
Neighbors in the area described Elvin as a “neighborhood star,” loved by everyone and widely recognized for his basketball talent.
They assured that they do not understand why they are trying to link him with criminal gangs, stating that both young men were calm and homely.
According to testimonies, Elvin was sharing at a party when an individual known as “Erick” tried to take a chain from him, starting the struggle.
The struggle ended tragically when another young man nicknamed “El Fuli” shot Elvin, killing him almost immediately at the scene.
His brother Erwin tried to intervene to defend him, but he was also hit by several shots and remains admitted to a stable health center.
The event generated indignation and pain among residents of La Caleta, who are demanding justice and greater security to avoid more tragedies in the area.
