(Shah Alam News on 26th)covered basketball courtDue to peeling paint on the floor and leaking eaves, and the basketball court facilities were not up to standard, the city council, with the help of the city councilors, allocated funds to upgrade the basketball court. Now the basketball court meets the standards of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA).
lie inKota Kemuning Lakeside Parkis the largest local park and leisure sports venue; it has a covered basketball court, where people play games almost every morning and evening, and basketball games are often held.
Not only that, the basketball court is also an important place for square dancing or events.
Lin Shuchen: Strive for funding increase after receiving complaints
However, last year, the basketball court began to suffer from peeling paint on the floor, leaking eaves, white lines, basketball hoops and floors that were not up to standard. Therefore, many golfers and the public complained to Shah Alam Municipal Councilor Lim Shu Chen, who is responsible for the area.
When Lin led the media to inspect the basketball court today, he said that he received complaints from the public and golfers in October last year, saying that the floor paint was peeling off and the eaves were leaking, and the facilities were not up to international standards.
He pointed out that after receiving the complaint, he started to report it to the Shah Alam City Hall to obtain funding to upgrade the basketball court.
“The city hall finally approved the funding increase in the middle of this year, and construction started in October and was completed in one month.”

Covered basketball court meets FIBA standards
At the same time, Lin Shuchen said that the City Hall has repaired the leakage problem in the eaves, repainted the floors, white lines, replaced basketball boards, and replaced new auditorium seats.
He said that today’s covered basketball courts fully comply with FIBA standards and will be able to host county-level basketball games more smoothly in the future.
He pointed out that coaches teach at the basketball court three or four days a week, and people come to square dance every Wednesday and Saturday.
“During the festive season, some people or organizations also joined me in co-organizing programs. Therefore, after upgrading the basketball court, it will benefit all local residents.”
People suggest building viaducts in commercial areas
In this article, Shuchen Lin pointed out that since the parking lot of the park is at the other end, golfers have to walk about 400 meters to reach the basketball court.
“Some golfers have requested that parking spaces be built next to the golf course.”
However, he said that after the city hall inspected the nearby road sections and the city hall branch site, it found that it was not suitable and there was no redundant space.
He said that some people also suggested building a viaduct in the business district opposite so that people could cross the road and reach the basketball court directly. However, after deliberation, the city hall found that it was not feasible. The proposed construction of traffic lights would also aggravate the traffic jam, so both options were not accepted.
“People and golfers can only walk to parking spaces far away, but I believe walking is also exercise and people won’t care too much.”
Lin Shuchen added that the track in the park is already lower than the grass next to it and will face water accumulation problems, so he will seek funding to upgrade the track next year.
He said that because the park occupies a large area and one lap is about 2 kilometers, a large amount of funding is needed to fully upgrade the track, and the city hall needs to schedule the upgrade.

Bukit Kemuning Elementary School carriageway repainted with yellow lines
In addition, Lin Shuchen said that Bukit Kemuning Elementary School reported that the yellow line in front of the school had peeled off, making it difficult for vehicles to see and causing danger, so he hoped to repaint it during the school holiday.
“The City Hall has repainted the yellow line before Christmas, which we believe will allow traffic users to be more cautious when passing this section of road.”
