Karviná vs Bohemians: Match Result & Highlights

Bohemians did not score in the league with Karvina after three matches and ended the autumn with four defeats in a row. Karviná lost only one of eight league matches under the leadership of new coach Jarolím.

Bohemians conceived the match as a celebration of the 120th anniversary of the club’s founding. Before the start, members of the management, led by owner Dariusz Jakubowicz and honorary president Antonín Panenko, symbolically tapped the foundation stone of the new Ďolíček, whose reconstruction should begin in full in February. The players played the match in the annual white jerseys with green and gold elements.

From the very beginning, “Klokani” did not have much reason to be happy, Karviná was a more dangerous team. In the 21st minute, Šigut found Samko on the front post with the outside of his instep, and he missed the goal by just inches. Immediately, Reichl had to pull off a great save against Šigut’s spot-kick from outside the box, and he also had to save against Singhate’s attempt from a good position. The home team threatened only with a weak header by Adam Kadlec in the 33rd minute.

Just 55 seconds after the change of sides, Šigut hit the post with a volley. In the 57th minute, after the defense hesitated, Čermák tried to pass Lapeš, the Karvina goalkeeper managed to return. He also dealt with the technical end of Pleštil.

In the last five mutual duels, both teams scored each time, but today in Ďolíček was a long way from that. The score changed only in the 70th minute. Singhateh’s cross landed on Vondr’s hand in the penalty area, and referee Rouček, after the intervention of the video referee and watching replays, ordered a penalty. Singhateh took it himself and easily scored the second goal of the league season.

The Gambian striker’s scoring record was equalized in the 79th minute by his substitute Ezeh. Šigut took the ball out on the right side, set up a shooting position for the Nigerian footballer on the edge of the box, and he uncompromisingly sent the ball under the crossbar.

The home team couldn’t answer, on the contrary, in the 87th minute, Ayaosi played with the defense and finished at the front post. The Nigerian winger scored his fifth league goal of the year, all scored in the last seven games.

Karviná is experiencing the best season in the club’s history, with 32 points, nine points more than last year at this stage of the competition. Conversely, for the first time in the era of coach Veselý, Bohemians did not exceed the twenty-point mark after the 19th round, having collected only 19 so far.
