The Buffalo Bills have confirmed that their star quarterback, Josh Allen, will have the day off on Sunday for the Bills’ final game against the New York Jets.
With the Bills’ defeat coupled with the Pats’ victory, Buffalo saw New England get their hands on the American East division title. The match therefore no longer has any importance for Sean McDermott’s squad. Mitchell Trubisky should get the start.
Allen will have time to rehab the injury to his right foot before Buffalo (11-5) begins the road playoffs in two weeks.
The Week 18 break would give him the opportunity to attend what could be the Bills’ final game at their 52-year-old stadium.
Next season, Buffalo will move across the street to a new $2.1 billion stadium.
The Bills quarterback has thrown 25 touchdown passes in addition to scoring 14 on the ground this season. He also orchestrated four comebacks in the fourth quarter. He has 3,668 air yards.
The Bills suffered five sacks Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles in a 13-12 loss.
Coach Sean McDermott has already announced that Terrel Bernard will not play as well.
