Nikola Jokic signed another extraordinary performance during the overtime victory of his Denver Nuggets against the Minnesota Timberwolves (142-138) Thursday in the NBA, the North American basketball league. The three-time Serbian MVP not only achieved a triple double with 56 points scored, 15 assists and 16 rebounds, but he also set the record for the number of points scored in a single overtime period by scoring 18 units during the five extra minutes.

The ‘Joker’ erased from the shelves a record of Stephen Curry, who scored 17 points in overtime of a playoff match against the Portland Trail Blazers in 2016. Denver thus remains in contact with the leaders of the Western Conference, 3rd with 22 wins for 8 losses, while Minnesota falls to 5th place (20v-11d).

The ranking is still dominated by OKC (26v-5d), despite two consecutive defeats against the San Antonio Spurs, who are in 2nd place with 23 wins and 7 losses. By recording his 179th career triple double, Nikola Jokic moves closer to Oscar Robertson (181) and 2nd place in the all-time rankings, dominated by Russell Westbrook (207). This is the second time this year that the Serbian has recorded a triple double at 50 points or more. He had scored 61 points, with 10 assists and 10 rebounds, already against the Wolves on April 1.
