In the just-concluded 2025 season Chinese Football Association Cup (women) finals and the 21st China Middle School Basketball Championship (high school women’s group) national finals, the Changchun Volkswagen Excellent Women’s Football Team and the Middle School Affiliated to Northeast Normal University women’s basketball team won the national championship. Huang Qiang said that Changchun Volkswagen’s outstanding women’s football team staged comebacks in the knockout rounds one after another, winning the final cleanly and winning three national championships in five years. The women’s basketball team of the Middle School Affiliated to Northeast Normal University won the group stage, defeated strong opponents in the knockout round, and finally won the championship. It was the first time in the 22 years since its establishment that it successfully aspired to the national competition.
