Hyun Chung is the player who achieved the most iconic achievement in Korean men’s tennis history. He left a strong impression on the world of tennis by winning the ATP Next Generation Final in 2017, where the next generation of top players participate, and achieved the feat of becoming the first Korean player to advance to the semifinals of a major tournament at the 2018 Australian Open. Chung Hyun established himself as a truly world-class player in name and reality by defeating the world’s top players at the time and recording a personal high of 19th in the world rankings.

The Gimpo City Hall tennis team is a team that has already achieved solid results. In 2025 alone, it participated in 19 domestic and international competitions and won a total of 33 medals, including 9 gold medals, 12 silver medals, and 12 bronze medals, solidifying its position as a professional sports team representing Gimpo City. In particular, it is evaluated as a key axis of Gimpo City’s tennis revival through stable player management and continuous performance.

Based on these achievements, Gimpo City is planning to operate a systematic team consisting of one coach and seven players in 2026, and the recruitment of Jeong Hyeon is expected to be a decisive opportunity to further increase the team’s competitiveness. The addition of Chung Hyun, who has experience on the world stage, is expected to have a positive impact not only on strengthening the team’s power, but also on the growth of young players and the improvement of the overall level of the team.
