Janssen Transfer: Utrechter Faces Difficulty

Theo Janssen appeared in the Ziggo Sport program on Monday evening Rondo very critical of Sébastien Haller. The analyst believes that the FC Utrecht striker has fallen far from a sporting point of view and even states that the Ivory Coast national team will miss little due to his absence.

Haller cannot be used in the African Cup due to an injury, but according to Janssen this does not have to be a disadvantage for the Ivorian team. “Ivory Coast is without Haller, but yes, I have to say that I don’t think that is a big deal,” said Janssen. The former midfielder sees little of the attacker who previously impressed at Ajax and in his first period in Utrecht. “If you see Haller playing football at Utrecht now, there is not much left of it.”

According to Janssen, the physical condition of the 31-year-old striker leaves much to be desired. “He has difficulty walking, turning, there is no speed anymore. It has really, really dropped.”

The analyst’s conclusion is therefore harsh. “So I think Ivory Coast should be happy that he is injured.”
