Gianni Infantino, President of the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA), in preparation for the launch of the African Cup of Nations in Morocco, expressed his great happiness at being in Rabat and participating in the atmosphere of the official dinner, stressing the Kingdom’s commitment to supporting and developing African football at all levels.

Gianni Infantino said, on his official page, “I would like to express my congratulations and gratitude to His Majesty King Mohammed VI for his vision and leadership, which, along with FIFA Vice President and Confederation of African Football (CAF) President Patrice Motsepe, continue to push African football towards further progress.”

He added: “On the eve of what is expected to be a historic edition of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, I was pleased to receive an invitation to attend the official dinner party in Challa in Rabat, and to share this moment with Faouzi Lakjaa, members of the 54 African Confederations, and the Minister of Youth, Culture and Communication of Morocco.”

He added: “Morocco has shown an exceptional commitment to football, and starting tomorrow it will become the football capital of the entire African continent. Just before the kick-off of the competition, the Africa Cup of Nations fan zone was alive with energy, energy and passion, as fans gathered to celebrate the most beautiful sport.”
