Precisely, on its social networks the Cali USA Sports Academy announced that, Jersson González, He is the new sports director of the club, a position he assumes as of this Friday, December 12.
And the former player of ‘the red devils’ returns to this institution, after having had a stint as a coach a couple of years ago.
On their Instagram account, they welcomed Jersson González saying that “we are pleased to announce the appointment of professional coach and former Colombian international, Jersson González, as our sporting director.”
In addition, the statement specifies what type of tasks Jersson González, who is one of the historic players of América de Cali, will have to fulfill.
“Jersson will oversee all aspects of player development, strengthening our methodology and playing philosophy as we continue our tradition of developing talent and achieving success on and off the field.”, closes the official statement.
González arrives from Swiss football, where he spent the last year as technical director of AC Bellinzona, from the second division of that country, a club where he only spent a little more than three months.
Several followers of Deportivo Cali made fun of his connection, this due to the roots that unite him to América de Cali, additionally, because Jersson González, at the time, indicated that he would not be linked to Deportivo Cali.
