The International Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) announced today that the Hong Kong Open, an annual sports event hosted by the Tennis Association of Hong Kong, China and recognized by the “M” brand, has stood out from the world’s 250-level international tours for two consecutive years and won the “WTA Best International Tournament of the Year” and won the newly established “WTA Annual Progress Award” for the first time.

The Prudential Hong Kong Tennis Open has been held since 2014 and has won the “WTA International Tournament of the Year” three times in eight editions, in 2018, 2024 and 2025. This annual award is voted by WTA players to select the best 250-level events in the world based on factors such as staff performance, event operations, fan atmosphere, contribution to athlete development and the sports world. The newly established “WTA Annual Progress Award” recognizes leadership, positive spirit and team achievements in the event.
The WTA commends the Hong Kong tournament for having become a high-profile highlight of the season and has been widely praised for continuing to provide an excellent experience. Whether it is continuously optimized hospitality, catering arrangements, or even carefully planned off-court activities for players, they have all received high praise from players, coaches and staff.
