Hazard handed it out yesterday and for many fans he is and remains Anderlecht’s most decisive player. Het Nieuwsblad collected a number of responses, which we briefly quote:

However, his contract expires in June 2026, meaning he can start talking to other clubs from January 1. His preference leans towards the former, although he will have to make concessions. Hazard works harder than before in the Bundesliga and feels comfortable in Besnik Hasi’s system. This gives him more freedom because other players take over the wing work. So he is satisfied. Hazard also seems to find a longer extension more important than a lot of money. Hazard would now earn around 1.8 million euros gross per year with bonuses of around a quarter of a million for winning a title or the Golden Boot. So that will have to drop considerably. A contract with highly performance-oriented premiums could be a solution, just like with Jan Vertonghen last season. The discussions about a new contract are not yet concrete, but it seems only a matter of time before both parties sit around the table. An agent is not necessary: Hazard is officially represented by his father Thierry, but he considers himself experienced enough to conduct the conversation himself. He wants to play football for at least another two to three years and may then consider a future as a sporting director.
