Zemgus Girgensons of bulls in a win against the Montreal Canadiens (5:4 PM) played 14 minutes and 52 seconds. The Latvian spent two minutes and 44 seconds on the ice in the minority. During the game, Girgenson had two shots on goal, a blocked shot and two power plays. Girgenson lost the only shot he took part in and finished the game with a negative +/- (-1).
This was Girgenson’s 800th game in the strongest hockey league in the world. He became the first striker to do so. Girgensons has accumulated 201 productivity points (96+105) in this period. None of the teams scored in the first period, but in the second Tampa played perfectly, gaining a three-goal advantage (3-0). In the second minute of the third period, both “Canadiens” and “Lightning” scored goals (4:1), but the Canadian club managed to equalize. Juraj Slafkovskis made it 4-4 four seconds before the end of regular time.
Overtime was not enough to determine the winner, however of bulls “Lightning” did better in the series, which realized two walks while the opponents stayed dry. Tampa won its fourth straight and is currently in second place in the Atlantic Division.
Rodrigo Abol in the loss against Seattle “Kraken” (1:4) played 13 minutes and 27 seconds. He played six seconds in the majority. Abol managed to get his fourth assist this season in this game. Abol also had one shot on goal, a blocked shot, a power play and five shots won (5/9 or 55.6%).
Thanks to the assist, Abols surpassed his performance of the last season. Last season, the Latvian NHL player had two goals and three assists, and this season he has two goals and four assists.
“Kraken” and “Flyers” could not score in the first period. The first goal was scored by “Kraken”, which was accurate in the fourth minute of the second period. Then followed Seattle’s two straight shots in the third period (3-0). “Flyers” lost one goal in the 19th minute, when Abols stood out with an assist in Karl Grundstorm’s goalhowever, Philadelphia failed to fight back – Tolvanen sent the puck into the “Flyers’ goal” after 21 seconds (4:1).
