Gianluca Inzerillo: Italian Badminton Championships 2024

The city councilor Gianluca Inzerillo took part in the Italian Badminton Championshipsclosely following the victory of Gianna StiglichAir Force athlete who was awarded the title of Italian Champion 2025.

“Seeing Gianna climb to the top step of the podium was truly touching. Behind that smile and that result there is commitment, sacrifice and great passion. It is the image of what sport should always represent for our young people: a path that helps them grow, that educates and that helps them to believe in themselves.” – The city councilor, Gianluca Inzerillo

The councilor highlighted how badminton is also growing in Palermo: “It is a clean, inclusive sport that unites children, families and sports clubs. Palermo needs disciplines like this, capable of creating communities and offering opportunities for meeting and growth. I will continue to work so that sport, all sport, has more and more space and attention.”

Inzerillo then wanted to extend special thanks to Paolo Caracausirecognizing the role it plays every day alongside young people who are approaching badminton. “Paolo is one of those people who make the difference. His dedication to making badminton known, to involving kids and bringing enthusiasm where it is often lacking, is a value for the city. My sincere thanks go to him.”

A recognition which, in the emotionally charged climate of the day, took on the flavor of an invitation to continue building, step by step, a more solid and more present sporting community in the area.
