More than 250 competitors (Brittany, Normandy and Pays de la Loire) including 26 representatives of Badminton Pays de Ploërmel, nine courts, 40 volunteers, the organizers were satisfied of this 12e edition of the Brocéliande tournament, contested this last weekend of November, with an intense rhythm. The group matches, qualifications and finals followed one another in a precise organization.
This tournament took place in 23 series with senior men and women, men’s and women’s doubles, and mixed doubles. For Gilles Renault, co-president of the club, “the organization is substantial but with experience, we manage calmly. We are satisfied with the high level offered, the atmosphere and the quality of the complex made available to us. We try to improve over time by taking into account the needs mentioned by the bad players. »
If the oppositions were very close, the locals won two series and a mixed doubles pair (Clément Le Lan and Janelle Pellerin) won in the final. Without forgetting four semi-finalists.
A winning duo from Ploërmel
The Ploërmelais Jean Lugué and Émilien Blanchard found double this year after having played together as young people. For Gilles Renault, “They gave us a great victory and played intelligently, respecting the instructions and patterns mentioned. » The two competitors were able to draw on their complicity and determination to overcome their opponents in the final. “It was mentally complicated because we failed against them in group play, but we were able to reverse the trend. We lost the first set and we knew how to react to win 3 sets to 2.”
In a tough competition, the Ploërmelais knew how to do well.
