Fluminense took second place in the National Water Polo League after being beaten by Flamengo in the final of the competition by 14 to 12, this Sunday (07/12), at Parque Aquático Jorge Frias de Paula, in Laranjeiras.

With a campaign of seven wins and four defeats in the first phase, Fluminense qualified in second place and faced Paulistano in the semifinals. In the match played this Saturday (06/12), Tricolor beat the São Paulo team 13 to 10 and guaranteed a place in the final.

In the decision, Tricolor had a great start, opening 9-5 on the scoreboard, but the opponent reacted and turned the match around at the end. Guilherme Gomes (5), Leonardo Cruz (3), Tomás Tilatti (2), Felipe Silva and Matheus Alves scored Fluminense’s goals in the match.

After the end of the match, brothers Bernardo and Guilherme Gomes, from Fluminense, were elected to the championship team.
