The winners are clear: the knockout games at the Passau indoor football city championship were played on Sunday from F to A youth. 500 fans cheered loudly in the packed triple gymnasium. They saw extremely fair games, good refereeing and a few surprises. We have an overview of what is happening in the youth sector.
A-Youth
Semi-final: FC Passau – SV Schalding II 1:3:In the end, the FC team deservedly shot their way into the final. After the SV goal, Passau got up to speed and won the game with three goals and a better performance. Goals: Arne Häusler, Luis Eder, Arianit Bersha – Timo Liebl.
Semi-final: VfB Passau Grubweg – SV Schalding I 2:1: A free kick and a seven-meter goal gave the full hall five extra minutes. In added time it was a Grubweger free kick that finally made the difference. Goals: Thomas Zaitsev, Luis Walther – Noah Joos.
Final: FC Passau – VfB Passau Grubweg 2:1: The final caused an unexpected amount of excitement for the A-Juniors – and a goalkeeper caused a lot of celebration: After the opening goal of the regional league team FC Passau, Grubweg’s goalkeeper David Maier almost caused the entire hall to shake. From his own half, he powerfully sends the ball into the top right corner – 1-1. What an answer from VfB! But in the end the goal wasn’t enough for the strong district league team. The ice-cold FC team scored another goal. Both teams pushed for another goal – but the goalies were too calm. In this class final, the favorites ended up with a narrow 2-1 win. Goals: Marcel Hödl, Arianit Berisha – David Maier.
B-Youth
Semi-final: FC Passau I – FC Passau II 0:2: A big surprise. The U16 kicked out the U17, who were competing with some of their players in the district final that was taking place at the same time. It was a quick, hard-fought duel that the younger generation won, not undeservedly. Goals: Julian Hartman, Lukas Gruber.
Semi-final: SV Schalding II – VfB Passau Grubweg 2:0: Sometimes more, sometimes less, the “Gruabwega” missed Schaldinger’s goal despite many chances. The SV B2 juniors, on the other hand, were ice cold in front of the goal – and that was the means to success in the end. Goals: Jonas Böhmisch, Josef Riesinger.
Finale: FC Passau II – SV Schalding II 1:2: The young people in the green and white striped jerseys won the duel between the two “seconds” between Passau and Schalding and thus the surprising final 2:1 – like the duel in the preliminary group (3:1). The FC team countered an early double blow with a strong long-range goal. As a result, the Passau U16 boys pushed further and further for the equalizer and the longed-for victory – but without success. The Schaldingers showed fighting spirit and managed to maintain a narrow lead over time. Afterwards, the Aschenberger team’s celebration knew no bounds. Goals: Dragos Diego – Bastian Bernhard, Jakob Riesinger.

Finale: FC Passau I – FC Passau II 2:0: In the internal club duel, the Passauer U14 made life very difficult for the year older team, acted on equal terms and even had a great chance to take the lead through Laurenz Multerer. The Bayern league team then took advantage of their first opportunity through Leon Grass and increased the lead to 2-0 after an outstanding pass from Aron Kazimi through Waleed Hadyan. Passau II didn’t give up, had two more shots, but couldn’t keep up. So it remained a deserved but hard-earned victory for the favorite, who played well in the semi-finals, kept a clean sheet throughout the tournament and also had the best keeper and top scorer with Sebastian Paitner and Leon Grass (7 goals).
Top scorer: Leon Grass (7).
Bester Keeper: Sebastian Paintner (FC Passau).

Final: VfB Passau-Grubweg I – 1.FC Passau I 0:4: A clear thing for the favorite. Shortly after the start of the game, Nils Schicha prevailed one-on-one and sank a hard shot to make it 1-0 for the Passau U13. As a result, the development league team controlled the action and quickly made everything clear with a double strike after four minutes. Grubweg threw everything in, but had no chance against the force of Passauer, who played with three blocks (13 players). Goals: Nilas Schicha, Nico Kot, Amjad Issaha 2.
Top scorer: Max Hölscher (JFG Passau Donautal, 6).

Final: VfB Passau-Grubweg – SV Schalding 2:1: A hard-fought duel with slight advantages for VfB, who deservedly took the lead through Johannes Sieber. Stefan Bauranov increased the score to 2-0 a little later. Schaldinger’s connection was prevented when Luca Erbesdobler hit the crossbar, but apart from that Grubweg didn’t allow much. The 1:2 thanks to a deflected free kick from Marton Szekeres 13 seconds before the end came too late for Schaldinger. Goals: Johannes Sieber, Samuel Obermüler – Marton Szekeres.
Top scorer: Paul Walk (Passau), Jonah Braumandl (Passau), Stefan Baranov (VfB Passau) each scored four goals.
Bester Keeper: Noah Schwetz (SV Schalding).

Final: FC Passau – SV Schalding 7:5 (3:3): What a drama, what a comeback! The SVS talents started off strong and quickly moved away to 3-0. The game seemed decided, but with a double strike within a minute, FCP fought back brilliantly – and actually equalized shortly before the end thanks to Elias Krenn’s brace. In extra time, the Passauers, who were pressing at the end, were unlucky when Henri Avdullahu hit the crossbar, so the Knights had to bring the decision. Here two Schaldingers missed, so that the Passauers were able to celebrate in the end. Goals: Elias Krenn 2, Adrian Avdullah – Tykhin Stasiuk 2, Paul Dickl.
Top scorer: Elias Krenn, Paul Rudolph (9 goals/both FC Passau).
Bester Keeper: Ben Sauer (VfB Passau).
