NFL
Historic success for the Philadelphia Eagles in the National Football League (NFL): The 2025 Super Bowl winner won 29:18 at the Washington Commanders and became the first team since 2004 to secure the NFC East division title for the second time in a row. Meanwhile, the game between the Chicago Bears and the Green Bay Packers turned into a thriller with the better ending for the Bears.
After an even start, the Eagles increasingly took control in the second half. With a touchdown pass from quarterback Jalen Hurts to tight end Dallas Goedert, the guests took the lead for the first time, 14:10.
Strong running back Saquon Barkley extended the lead with a 12-yard run and saw his team take a decisive lead to 29:11 in the fourth quarter. Even before the game, Washington no longer had a chance of participating in the play-offs.
Bears equalize late against Packers
Another game was more exciting: After a long deficit, the Chicago Bears equalized against the Green Bay Packers just seconds before the end of regular time and then turned the game into a 22:16 win in overtime. With two more wins, the Bears can no longer take victory in the NFC North.
In windy Soldier Field in Chicago, it was backup quarterback Malik Willis of the Green Bay Packers who lost a crucial ball in overtime. Chicago recovered the ball and placed it in the end zone after four plays.
