Duarte Judo Association: 2025 Province Champions

The Judo Association of the Duarte province was awarded as the most outstanding Association of the year 2025 in the awards of athletes, institutions and sports communicators held successfully at the Olimpia sports center in this city.

The sports institution was represented by its president, the outstanding medalist of national and international events, José Eugenio Vásquez, who praised the staging of the awards ceremony for the sports writers.

Athletes belonging to the provincial Judo Association won more than 15 medals in school sports games as well as in cadet and national tournaments in the training categories.

Likewise, the outstanding national judo team athletes Medickson del Orbe and Ana Rosa García were awarded as the athletes of the year 2025.

On his side as coach of the year, the renowned judo coach José Ramón Geraldino was awarded, who did laudable work in favor of that discipline where his athletes won more than 60 medals in national and international events.

The president of the Association of Sports Writers of the Duarte province, Ing. Tabare Peña Reyes, valued the excellent work carried out by the technicians and athletes of that sporting discipline.

“Without its own place to practice and with little business support, this sporting discipline has borne excellent fruits and results that raise the name of San Francisco de Macorís in national and international competition,” said Reyes, president of the union that brings together the main sports communicators in the area.

“Having athletes of the quality of Medickson Del Orbe and Ana Smerlyn Rosa is a great prestige for Franco-Macorisan and national sports,” added Peña Reyes.
